Okay, so I’ll be the first to admit that this one is kinda lame. I’m tired, been busy and couldn’t put much effort into it. I promise tomorrow will be better.
Ramen, tuna, strawberries and tomatoes.

Yesterday’s bento was full of color. Baby peas, melon cubes, rice, gyoza and soba noodles with soy sauce made yesterday’s lunch delicious!
Not by a long shot, as the photo shows. Who remembers the old jingle for Skippy peanut butter? “My mom loves me, how do I know? ‘Cuz my Skippy tells me so!”
So does no bento mean no love? On the contrary. It means mom’s too petered out from baking six cakes, a huge pot of pasta sauce and three batches of meatballs! Better luck with bentos tomorrow, kid!
That’s my famous sauce above. So chock full of veggies, it’s like a meal!
This tasty bento was full of California rolls, tamago, rice, and carrots. Yum!
I know. I’m a little late. This was yesterday’s bento.
My darling daughter had a shrimp and cuke roll, two tamago nigiri, sliced carrots, rice, and that triangle you see there is a strawberry, banana and nutella crepe for dessert. More on that in the next post. Yum!
Is a very sad week. But I was a very sad person. Or, sick person, that is. Sick as a dog! I didn’t feel up to doing anything, much less make up bento. So, my poor child went to school with a random assortment of foods this week, from Dunkin’ Donuts to purchasing bagels at school, or having a snack and getting lunch right after school.
So I apologize to you, my readers, but I apologize to my dear daughter a lot more. I’ll be back on bento making duty next week!
~Until then.
Sorry, no fish in this lunchbox! Today’s bento features leftover curry chicken, rice, strawberries and mochi. The curry chicken recipe will be in a different post. It’s a favorite in this house. It’s a great comfort food served over rice.
Today’s bento isn’t highly original. It utilizes the last of the shumai, some leftover beef from the Iri Iri, tamago and strawberries. Maybe tomorrow’s bento can be a little more interesting.
Today’s bento was really simple:
Rice, tamago and homemade shumai. Not much to any of that but it’s delicious and beats everyone else’s brown bags any day.
Today’s bento consists of rice, chicken stir fried in garlic, soy, and sake, ramen (although the double carbs probably aren’t such a good idea), carrot & strawberry slices, and a strawberry mochi.
